The similarities between Lovelle Mixon and Maurice Clemmons are striking.
Both men are black. Both served time in jail on gun charges. Both raped a 12-year-old girl. And both murdered four white police officers before being killed by police.
Clockwise from top left: John Hege, Daniel Sakai, Ervin Romans, Mark Dunakin. All four Oakland, CA police officers were murdered by Lovelle Mixon.

The question is, will the black community in Seattle hold a vigil for Clemmons and call him a hero?
Black Oakland residents hold a vigil to mourn cop killer Lovelle Mixon.
My guess is yes. Although Clemmons sustained a serious gunshot wound during his coffee shop ambush, he was able to elude capture for nearly two days with help from a network of friends and family who gave him places to stay, medical aid, rides and money. Clemmons clearly has a number of supporters in Seattle's black community.
